Program
Framework
The
study program is internship-based, combining traditional academic studies with real
world PAID business and cultural internships (also
called Curricular Practical Training - CPT). At this
program not only teach
students with the business and technical knowledge in a
classroom setting, but also value
the real world “hands-on” work
experiences related to student's future careers. This
program challenges students in many ways and will eventually put our students well ahead of their peers
when they graduate from school. When compared with
traditional students educated from textbook to textbook,
TLHU's students
on average already
have many years US work experience at the time they
receive their bachelor's degree. In contrast to the
students from traditional classroom only education
program, TLHU's students have strong communication and
social skills, they are well adapted to the multi-cultural real
world environment, demonstrate good time management ability and
fluent in
oral English, plus many years international
business "know-how" and cultural experience.
Enriched resume and strong recommendation letters from
American companies and organizations are sparkling
extras. All these will help students prepare to
meet the challenge of increasingly intensified competition
in the
global market.
Students
need to complete a total of 120 credits to receive a
bachelor's degree. Following
two degrees are available for this internship-based program:
-
Bachelor's
Degree in International Business for those
students who want to pursue business management as
their career goal in the global market with
concentration on international trade.
-
Bachelor's
Degree in Intercultural Studies for those
students who want to work as diplomatic officers
(such as visa officer) on foreign affairs and
international relationships for the government and
other public service sections.
Students at
"Work-Study" Program are required to take one
(1) CPT workshop offered by ADAM Group in the first 9
months, CPT
workshop will teach
students how to write American style resume and cover
letter, job hunting strategies, interview skills, ethics
on the job, US culture and custom, and safety issues, etc. All
these are intended to help students smoothly enter the
PAID internship employment.
Internship
starts after student stay in school for 9 months and
continues for at least two years.
