Coleman College at A Glance

Coleman College is a nonprofit San Diego based technical institution. It is nationally recognized as a leader in Information Technology (IT) education. Since 1963, Coleman College has provided accelerated career training that has helped its students become leaders in the IT industry.

The mission of Coleman College is to prepare students for meaningful careers in the computer professions, while providing an environment where those who become a part of this academic community may develop their full potential as human beings.  Coleman consistently provides extensive hands-on experience for its students, who have ready access to the latest computer equipment. That's part of the Coleman difference. We expect our graduates to encounter a wide variety of technical events and problems on the job, so it makes sense for them to encounter them first during training.

The College has a large variety of computers, including PC, Macintosh, midrange and mainframe. The equipment and software are updated on a regular basis. The multiple platforms are interconnected via a switched Ethernet backbone to provide students with maximum experience on the most prevalent computer systems used in business and industry.  We have many qualified and friendly instructors, a powerful mainframe and high-tech equipment to keep us on the cutting edge of technology. The knowledgeable administrative staff is also here to make your academic learning process a wonderful and fulfilling time at Coleman College.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, computer and data processing services is projected to be the fastest growing industry in the economy, with employment expected to increase 86 percent between 2000 and 2010.
