To
apply for the Northwest Christian University "Co-op" Program,
please follow below instruction.
1.
Completed
and signed agreement, contact your agent in your city for the agreement,
and sheets & forms
2.
APPLICATION FORM: Completed and signed
Application forms. Please make sure all information is
written so it is legible. This will enable the
information to be correct on the I-20. This is not
an on-line app, and thus must be printed and sent to us.
3.
COPY
OF PASSPORT (If you have your passport now.
Otherwise, send a copy as soon as you receive the
passport)
4.
FINANCIAL
SUPPORT. You
must have, either,
(a) a copy of your own
current Bank Statement in US dollars that amounts to at
least $20,000, or,
(b) a copy of your sponsor’s
bank statement that amounts to at least $20,000.
If using a sponsor’s bank
statement, he/she also needs to provide a letter of
support states that, “I am the sponsor for _________
and I intend to provide him/her with financial
assistance during his/her first year at Northwest
Christian University,
up the amount of $______.
5.
Please
note that if your (or your sponsor’s) bank statement
is not in US dollars you will need to get the conversion
into US dollars by doing the conversion on the
internet.. Just print the page showing the
conversion information and include it with your

TWO
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION. The recommendation
letters may come from a professor or your employer or
from a co-worker.
The letters should provide an assessment of
the applicant’s ability to successfully complete
graduate studies and succeed in an employment situation.
7.
ADMISSION
ESSAY (minimum: 500 words): Please
respond to the following questions/prompts in essay form
(typed, double spaced). Note that this essay will be
used to represent an accurate demonstration of your
writing skills by which admission or deny decision will
be made.
a).
Describe your qualifications for acceptance into the program. Be
sure to address your leadership potential, creative abilities,
and motivational aptitude.
b).
Describe your three most important accomplishments to date. You
may address civic service, community service, and volunteer
work, if applicable, as well as work related endeavors.
c).
Address your career goals for the next three to five years,
discussing how a degree from NCU will assist you in
accomplishing them.
8. RESUME.
Your resume needs to include your personal
information (name, address, and date of birth), work
history, educational history, any research or
publications in your field, any honors or awards
received, and any organizations that you belong to.
9. EVIDENCE
OF ENGLISH PROFICIENCY.
Sufficient evidence may be a TOEFL score of 550
or more (213 computer base), or, an IELTS score
of 6.0, or, evidence that you have studied at
least two years in a university where English was the
medium of instruction. Or for Chinese student, pass
the ESL school exam ( www.naesl.com
)
10.
EVIDENCE
OF A BACHELOR DEGREE.
Copies of your Certificate/diploma/proof of
Bachelor's degree.
If the document was awarded in an language other
than English, an English translation must also be
submitted.
A bachelor degree in any major may qualify an applicant
for admission to the program.
11.
TRANSCRIPTS:
You will need to submit official transcripts in original
language as well as an English translation.
Transcripts need to show every year that you studied at
the College level. It is important that the
transcripts show all subjects taken and all grades or
marks earned for each subject. It also is
very helpful if the grading system of the College is shown
on each record. You will need to show you have the
equivalent of a 2.50 GPA or greater.
Applicants can use copies of
transcripts for admission purposes, but they need to
bring with them (or have sent from their previous
universities) an official or attested document before
they can complete enrollment in the first quarter.
12.
SPOUSE
AND DEPENDENTS.
If you plan to bring your spouse and/or children
you will need to provide copies of their passports,
along with a letter giving the following details for
each family member you plan on bringing with you: full
name, date of birth, country of birth, and country of
citizenship. You also need to show an increase in
the bank statement of $6,000 per family member that
you are planning to bring with you.
13.
IN THE US: If you are already in the US
you will also need the following additional
documents: If you are currently
enrolled at a US College or college, a completed
transfer form, copies of visa, passport, I-94 and I-20
(if applicable) and foreign address (home country)
If you are living abroad and need to apply for a
visa from the U.S. consulate in your home country, you
will need to contact an authorized consulting agency or
placement agency there in your country.
